The new Revo Beast 40/41 is a completely new reel that does not have much more in common with the old Beaster reel more than the name. Below we list the most important changes.
• The size is brand new, it is larger than the old Beast but smaller than the Toro Beast. • Brake systems have been removed by Abu Garcia from the Toro Beast rollers, which use thicker washers than the old Beasten. As a result, Abu Garcia has a larger braking area, which in turn, together with the thicker washers, provides a stronger and more durable slip brake.
• The release mechanism is completely new for a softer and safer function. • The spool diameter has been increased from 33 mm to 37.5 mm to make the reel hold more line and throw heavier baits longer and more controlled.
• The external design of the reel is completely new where the line guide has been moved forward to reduce the line's breaking angle when it is at the outer ends of the spool. This gives a softer slip brake and better throwing properties. • The locking of the end is new and with a lever instead of the screw that ran across the stand.
• The centering knob is intact, which means that if you unscrew it too far, it will still not fall off. • The spool suspension is new and the spool gear is supported by a ball bearing in the end so that there is no load on the spool shaft. This gives a stronger and softer gear.
• Abu Garcia has removed the TiN coating on the ends and changed from aluminum in the left end (on a right-hand crank roller) to carbon fiber-reinforced polymer to make the roller warmer to hold during the cold season.
