Nylon ropes

Nylon lines are a real classic that has been around in the fishing industry for ages. Before braided line came along, people fished almost exclusively with nylon lines. Today, it is used as a main line mostly for angling, ice fishing or in conditions where it is very rocky and there is a lot of wear on the fishing line because nylon lines have a very high abrasion resistance that can withstand being pulled against rocks and other obstacles. The breaking strength of a nylon line is rarely as high as a braided line in relation to its dimension, but it is better resistant to wear.
