Collection: Spoons

The spoon pull is our oldest grazing type. As late as the end of the 18th century, spoons were used by fishermen in Scandinavia. But the spoon pull actually has ancestry as far back as the year 3000 before Christ, ie 5000 years ago…

The design is very simple. In principle, a spoon pull is just an oblong metal piece with a cupped shape. The concave side captures water and thereby gives rise to a wobbly movement and a light gleam that imitates a damaged prey fish or a fish on the run.

The spoon's movement pattern depends largely on its shape and thickness. An oblong form gives a wider movement than a shorter spoon. And the more concave the shape, the greater movement in the water. A thicker sheet weighs more and thus gives increased depth and suppresses the movement. Thin spoon draws, on the other hand, have a lively time in the water even at low speeds.

When spin fishing with spoon pulls, the speed is critical for success. If you fish too quickly or too slowly, the bait does not move correctly, and then the chop also fails. One tip is to experiment until you find exactly the speed that makes the spoon fish fish at its best. And remember that each model is unique.
