X Zone Lures was founded by Canadian tournament fishing ball. He came up with the idea while he practiced for some upcoming tournaments and tried to find which drop shot technology was most effective.

Mark realized that he needed bait that would behave just like seabed in the lake where the events were held.

Mark noticed that the tournament's lakes had an abundance of crayfish and worms. So a profile that looked and served as both of these, but which may vary depending on conditions. This eventually led to him developing the first "Slammer" designers.

X Zone Lure's success in tournaments and expertise in using the "dropshot" technology has made them a well -known name in the fishing industry. 'Slammer' has become one of the most dominant baits in Canada and the Northern United States.
