The Korda BASIX Wide Gape hook has been designed as the perfect all-round pattern, which can be used straight out of the packet for a wide variety of rigs – without the need for you to add a load of extra components – whether you are fishing with bottom baits, pop-ups or wafters. The aggressively in-turned eye helps the hook to quickly turn and take hold in the fish’s mouth, without the need for extra kickers or shrink tubing.

It is manufactured from our ‘X’-gauge wire, making it strong enough for both UK and overseas fishing, and it also features a discreet black nickel coating. The point has been designed to be durable over time, and it is possible to catch several fish on the same hook before it needs to be changed – though always check it is still sharp every time you cast out, and change it if not. The shape is based on the incredibly effective original Wide Gape pattern, which has been responsible for countless big carp over the years.
