COG (Centre Of Gravity) sinkers are designed to be fished in a specific way, so that the fish feels the full weight of the sinker as quickly as possible once hooked. This is precisely why they are called Centre Of Gravity sinkers.

For the system to work optimally, the sinkers must be used together with Centre Of Gravity System booms. COG sinkers are designed for use with a Lead Clip system and a boom made of spliced leadcore. At one end of the boom there is a swivel that connects to the mainline and fits into the nose of the Lead Clip.

At the other end there is a specially adapted swivel where the lower eye has been removed, allowing the cylinder part to fit perfectly into the rubber grommet in the middle of the COG sinker. The eye also contains a Kwik Link, which makes it easy to quickly attach the leader.

Once a fish is hooked, the Lead Clip system works as usual, providing a completely safe rig. There are several different lengths of the Centre Of Gravity System to match the size and shape of the COG sinker being used. To achieve a neat, effective and tangle-free presentation, it is important to choose the correct system according to the marking on the packaging.
