This is an updated version of our original Safe Zone Flying Back Leads, redesigned to work equally well with both monofilament and braided lines. Flying Back Leads are designed to slide up the mainline during the cast and help keep as much line as possible on the bottom.

A clever slotted insert makes it easy to remove the weight from the line – simply twist it until it aligns with the opening. This makes it smooth to switch between different sizes if needed. However, this slotted design works less well with braided line, as it can get caught in the opening; therefore, a special insert adapted specifically for braided line is also included.

A small rubber bead is used as a shock absorber when the Flying Back Lead is positioned above the knot to your leader (assuming you are using, for example, a Dark Matter or Kable leader) before casting.

Available in two sizes – small (3g) and medium (5g) – with the weight engraved on each backlead. They have a brown camouflage finish for discreet presentation.
