The Heli-Safe Tubing Kit allows you to circumvent bans on leadcore and leaders by enabling you to fish with a helicopter rig in conjunction with rig tubing. This conversion kit allows the Heli-Safe system to be used with tubing while retaining all the usual features of a traditional helicopter rig – plus you get the ability to drop the lead when needed.

As you know, helicopter rigs have very good anti-tangle properties, they can be cast a long way, and they allow you to adjust the top bead (recently updated in this kit) to determine how the hooklink should lie on the bottom.

For those of you who don't use heli-rigs: you can practically adjust the bead depending on the type of bottom your rig lands on. On hard ground, the distance can be short. In low-growing vegetation, the distance can be increased. And in, for example, deep mud, the bead can be moved far up, so that the lead sinks into the mud while the rig lies on top.

The solution to the problem may look very simple, but a lot of thought and testing has gone into getting the Heli-Safe Tubing Kit just right, so that it works as intended – including the ability to still drop the lead if necessary.

We originally launched the product in 2018, but it was noted that some of the tungsten beads – which were designed to sit tightly on the rig tube – had a problem in the manufacturing process. They sat too tightly when used with Dark Matter Rig Tube, which created a potential safety risk in the tackle. As a precautionary measure, we removed the product from the market, as our highest priority has always been to ensure that carp remain safe when our products are used.

Since then, the tungsten bead has been replaced with a silicone sleeve in combination with our proven No Trace Bead.

The small plug is called a "witch's hat" and sits inside the Heli-Safe unit. It is part of the well-thought-out design and holds the tubing in place. When used with a custom Heli-Safe "cap", with a hard plastic tail, it ensures that the tubing cannot come loose and that the system works exactly as originally intended. The "witch's hat" is the smartest part of the product, as it holds the tubing securely in place. It can be used with both Dark Matter tungsten or Kamo plastic rig tubing.

The Heli-Safe Tubing Kit is sold in packs containing everything you need for two complete rigs (excluding tubing). They are also available in brown or green to match the lakebed.
