Product description
The Heli-Safe system is fantastic for any helicopter rig, whether you’re using a standard rig or a chod, and is now also available on pre-tied leaders. These 50cm leaders are made from the new Tight Weave Kable Leadcore and are ready to use straight from the packet.
The 50cm versions are not only great for keeping everything tight to the lakebed and protecting the fish from line and hook damage during the fight, but also excellent for long-range casting. This type of leader has excellent anti-tangle properties and is very fish-safe as it incorporates the Mini Heli-Safe system – a compact version of the original – which ensures the lead is dropped when needed. It also features our No-Trace Safety System, which allows the hooklink to easily detach from the leader if the mainline should break. Each pack contains two spare No-Trace Beads (which can also be bought separately if needed).
The top bead of the No-Trace system can be positioned close to the lead when fishing over clean bottoms, or moved to the other end of the leader when fishing over weed or detritus, particularly with chods. The Mini Heli-Safe can be set in various ways depending on the situation: the standard spring releases the lead at minimal pressure, guaranteeing it drops on a take – perfect in dense weed. It can be replaced with the red spring (two are supplied) for waters largely free of snags and weed, where the lead should only be ejected if it becomes snagged.
There is also the option to use a collar (two are supplied), which means the lead is never ejected, but in the event of a crack-off, the fish can still get free thanks to the No-Trace system. The use of a size 11 QC Ring Swivel makes rig changes quick and easy, and a spliced loop at one end makes it simple to attach the leader to your mainline – loop-to-loop is the easiest and fastest method.
Kable Heli-Safe Leadcore Leaders are available in Gravel Brown or Weed/Silt colours, with two leaders per pack. The pack also contains:
