This model has been a bestseller since Tom Dove first introduced it in 2014 and has accounted for countless large catches both at home and abroad – even monster fish of other species weighing well over 100 lb in Thailand.

The unique shape features a very wide gape, a relatively short and curved shank, and a slightly inturned eye – the inturned effect is enhanced by the shape of the shank and how it sweeps towards the eye. The point, which is slightly beaked, is offset (slightly splayed), and this shape helps the hook "Krank" its way in once it has gained its initial hold.

These hooks are very strong and have a micro-barb that does not impede penetration but ensures the hook stays put once it has penetrated. A barbless version is also available. Krank can be used with a variety of rigs and is extremely effective even with a simple knotless knot, but works equally well in more advanced rigs, such as the Spinner Rig which Tom Dove himself prefers.

There is also an upgraded and extra strong Krank X version, designed for fishing in very weedy or snag-filled waters, or for more demanding fishing in continental waters.
