The BeastMaster 12000 MD (Monster Drive) is Shimano’s largest and most powerful electric reel, featuring a motor twice the size of the highly acclaimed Beastmaster 9000. With an advanced oversized brushless motor generating immense torque and high speed, this is a reel for anglers targeting the largest fish in the deepest waters around the world.
The Beastmaster 12000 MD is a reel for the extreme deep-sea specialist. It is incredibly advanced and equipped with Shimano’s most powerful motor, generating 2.5 times more torque than the 9000 size. Despite its enormous power, it is surprisingly easy to use and delivers impressive winding power and speed. If you want to explore depths that are simply not practical to fish with a traditional multiplier reel, there is nothing bigger, better, or more advanced than the Beastmaster 12000 MD.
At the heart of the “Monster Drive” is the largest advanced brushless motor Shimano produces. It generates enormous torque and incredibly high winding speed, with a winding strength (motor power) of up to 38 kg and a top speed of 170 meters per minute. Naturally, this power must be utilized efficiently for maximum effectiveness, and the ultra-strong Hagane body ensures safe and reliable performance even at the most extreme levels of power and pressure.
The BeastMaster 12000 MD also boasts an impressive drag strength of 43 kg with thermally adjustable drag, as well as a 50% reduction in residual heat in the drag thanks to the exclusive Thermo Adjust Drag technology. This allows deep-sea species such as groupers, swordfish, and large squid to be handled like never before. The fine-point LCD screen is easy to read, even in bright sunlight, and the Exciting Drag Sound function adapts the sound to how hard the drag is working, so you can hear how much strain it is under. For manual winding, the Beastmaster 12000 MD is equipped with a simple aluminum handle with an ergonomic power knob.
